Dock Diving

Evening Group Class

This class is for all levels.

$50 per dog

Class is limited to 5 dogs per session.

Dogs are worked 1 at a time on the dock.

How our class works:

  • There’s a maximum of 5 dogs enrolled in a class

  • Class runs approx. 90 minutes

  • Each dog and handler is worked on the dock separately in short one-on-one sessions, approximately 6-10 minutes each (so as not to tax their brain or wear them out) and will get 3 rounds during the 90 minute class for one-on-one instruction.

  • Classes can include a combination of beginner to advanced level dogs.  Each dog is different and the one-on-one lessons are catered to their comfort and ability.

We start with introducing the dog to the exit ramp and swimming while there is someone in the pool.  Dogs eventually graduate to the dock and working on the confidence to jump off the dock.  Then as the dog advances we’ll work on the dog and handler throw/catch timing… it’s all a process and a fun one at that!

We encourage the owner/handler to watch the other classmates lessons to help encourage and learn from the instruction they’re receiving as well.

If you feel you dog would do better with you in the pool for building confidence, that is welcomed and allowed.

We recommend bringing a crate for in between your turns, a towel, because everyone gets a little wet… and your camera!

At the end of the class, if not before, we will talk with you about the progress of your dog during the class and recommended next steps.  Some dogs only need one class and can move on to competitions and Open Dock… other dogs may need more than one class to build their confidence with the ramp and or dock. Every dog is different and we’re very flexible to find the best approach for your dog.
